5 Ways to Make Your Home Quieter
If you’re anxious that you make a lot of noise in your home, or that you can hear everything your neighbours say and do, then you might want to see if some sort of sound reduction can make your home quieter too, so that they can’t hear you.
Here’s how you can make your home quieter.
1. It’s important to remember that new homes have much thinner walls compared to older houses, so if you’re recently moved into a newer house, the walls might well be thinner, which means that your noise is much more likely to travel next door. You’ll want to keep conversations or arguments quiet, as your neighbours don’t need to know everything about you.
2. If you or your children enjoy playing on your games consoles, then you’ll probably play some games louder so that you can feel more involved in the game. By reducing the volume, you can reduce the chance of your noise annoying your neighbours. Why not think about using decent headphones which will allow you to have the volume loud, give you great sound, but won’t be heard by anyone else?
3. Loud music sounds better, and you’ll hear parts of songs that you’ve never heard before, but it can be annoying for neighbours, or others in the house. Why not use good quality headphones, or wait until your neighbours are out before you turn up the volume? Decent headphones won’t be cheap, but hey will be comfortable and make sure that everything still sounds great.
4. Perhaps you’ve got a large screen TV or an impressive home cinema system for watching films on. As well as having fantastic sound and realistic effects, the latest Hollywood blockbuster you’re watching might well be annoying your neighbours. Why not watch your films at weekends, or when other people are out?
5. If you can’t bear to wear headphones, or wait until your neighbours are out, then why not think about using acoustic insulation, acoustic flooring, and other sound reduction products in your home? These will help to make your home quieter, and will allow you to play your games or music louder, and enjoy the latest DVD without disturbing others.
Now you know some of the ways that you can make your home quieter, and annoy your neighbours less, and yet still listen to music or watch films as loud as you want to, what sort of sound reduction will you use?
